The Heart Behind the Wool: Meet the Artist
Hello! I’m the creator and textile artist behind Woollie and Feltie. My journey with color and texture didn't start with wool, but with glass. For 20 years, I worked as a stained glass artist, learning how to balance light, shape, and intricate detail. In 2013, I decided to translate those decades of design experience into a softer medium, opening a little shop in Hythe, Kent, and Woollie and Feltie was born.
From the Coast to the Countryside
Since those early days in Kent, life has taken me on a new adventure to Hertfordshire. While my business is now completely online, I still love getting out of the studio to meet the community in person. You’ll often find me at the NEC in Birmingham for craft and sewing shows. These events are a highlight for me, as I get to sell my kits and supplies directly to the public and see your creative spark in person!
Unique Designs & Premium Supplies
Every felting kit and embroidery pattern you see here is a Woollie and Feltie original. As a textile artist, I take my own hand-drawn illustrations and turn them into tactile art. Because of my background in glass, I have a deep appreciation for "painting with wool," ensuring every palette is perfectly curated to bring a story to life.
Beyond my unique kits, I am also a proud supplier of the materials I love most. I personally source professional-grade fibers and fabrics—like our beautiful Italian prefelts—so that you have access to the same high-quality supplies I use in my own professional work.
Life in the Studio
When I’m not sketching new designs or packing up orders, I’m usually supported by my "executive assistants"—my husband and our three dogs, Arfur, Stan and Ted. They keep the studio lively and remind me every day of the joy of creating something by hand.
Thank you for being part of this journey. Whether you are picking up a Woollie and Feltie kit at a show or choosing your own palette from our online shop, I’m so glad you’re here to create something beautiful with me.
